A couple months ago, we reported that GK Films had acquired the rights to the Tomb Raider franchise, with the intention of rebooting the series for a 2013 release. We're now one step closer as the writing team of Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby have been hired to write a script. The duo previously worked with Jon Favreau on Iron Man and this summer's sci-fi western Cowboys & Aliens.

You know we completely forgot about another woman that could be a Tomb Raider! My girl Lexa Doig, young woman who starred as Andromeda on the Gene Roddenberry sci-fi action series "Andromeda."

I think they should cast someone who looks more like the new rebooted game version of Lara Croft. More realistic proportions, etc. And along with that, hopefully the movie will be darker and more dramatic as well. Should be interesting.

I don't care as long as the movie stays true to the total awesomeness of Tomb Raider.

How about NO ONE, the "original" movies were terrible why make a rebot of crap? Plus the sexism of one of them made me sick to my stomach to watch.

I like the idea of Eva Green from Casino Royal and starz Camelot.

Angelina Jolie was a perfect match for Lara Croft, but if TR must be re-booted, and if we must have a new Lara, I think we should at least get one of the Lara Croft models. The best picks are: Ellen Rocche, Alison Carroll, and Lara Weller. Unless they are looking for a really young Lara, then maybe Vanessa Demouy, but her face is all wrong.
I was also thinking Jennifer Lopez and Paula Patton.
How about Jessica Alba!
How about Jolene Blalock young woman who starred as vulcan science officer T'Pol on Star Trek Enterpise! She even looks the part.
Milla Jovovich starring as Tomb Raider, actor of Resident Evil Movie series would also be interesting!

1) Why is Angelina Jolie "not an option"? It's her role for the asking, as far as I'm concerned. 2) If not Jolie, then Milla Jovovich. Hello. Anyone paying attention? 5th Element? The Resident Evil series? Action heroine! I think she could pull it off. Am I wrong?
Besides, for whatever reason, a long time ago I used to get them confused... :oP
Milla would be interesting playing the part. Since she sort of already looks like a Tomb Raider of a different version in the Resident Evil movies.

You are all wrong...Jolene Blalock (Enterprise) is the perfect fit. She's got the body, she's got the lips.
I said this on May the seventh, but didn't realize you already mentioned it! I agree with you.

Maybe Cher?

i think Katee Schakoff has the chops to do Lara Croft..but Olvia Wilde or Gemma Arterton would work...she has to be British since the character is British..too bad they rebooting because Angelina Jolie WAS Lara Croft...the original and the sequel story kind of suck but Angelina made both movie watchable because of her..

Olivia Mund. She used to be on G4 but is now working on the Daily Show. Not only is she way too cute and a brunnette, but her experience as a Video Game reporter on G4 means she already knows the plot inside and out.
