Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
Among the list of highly anticipated sequels, Robert Rodriguez's Sin City sequel, A Dame To Kill For certainly ranks among the tops. The sequel has certainly be progressing quickly since officially being announced a few months ago, though The Departed screenwriter William Monahan had been working on the script for quite some time.
Today Dimension Films announced that Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will arrive in theaters October 4, 2013, giving them plenty of time to shore up casting and shorten that title.
Two cast members were also confirmed to return; Jessica Alba will reprise her role of Nancy Callahan and Mickey Rourke will return as Marv. The remaining cast will be announced soon with some big names expected to fill the new roles in the film, specifically in the titular character known as Ava in the six-part Dark Horse Comics series.
Blade Runner 2
While most of the attention is on Ridley Scott's upcoming Prometheus, the director spoke at great length with The Daily Beast about another sequel. Scott plans to re-launch the Blade Runner franchise with a new take on the material and considering the contentious relationship he has with the first film's star, Harrison Ford, Scott has decided on one thing – the gender of the protagonist.
"Funny enough, I started my first meetings on the Blade Runner sequel last week. We have a very good take on it. And we'll definitely be featuring a female protagonist."
THR reports that original Balde Runner scribe Hampton Fancher will write the sequel, which will be set "some years into the future after the first film ended."
Who would you like to see star in Scott's Blade Runner sequel? Might he turn to Prometheus stars Charlize Theron or Noomi Rapace or cast a different actress?
And speaking of Prometheus, you knew Fox's marketing team couldn't let a day go by without releasing some kind of promotional item. Here's the latest international poster for the film which opens domestically, June 8.

It's about time that Sin City 2 got a release date, was starting to get pissed at Robert Rodriguez for not focusing on a sequel because that's one movie that everybody loved and has been talking about since it came out in 05.

I don't like hearing about this Blade Runner sequel. The first is soo much of a Masterpiece. But I can't really say anything until I see something so if it looks as good as Prometheus then we'll talk. Even if it is good you know it won't be as good as the first so why try?
I didn't like hearing about a sequel and still don't like hearing about it, however, I do look at the fact that I believe the original director Ridley Scott is set to direct isn't he? Which makes a little difference than if it was just some other director trying to top the original. But ultimately I do agree with you, it shouldn't be touched. Just like The Crow shouldn't be touched.

That is one cool Prometheus poster. I'm not do intrested in a Blade Runner sequel. I didn't like it at all. Huge production design but a weak story and shallow, unintresting characters.
Actually Blade Runner is one of those films that made movie history with it's amazing special and visual effects (for it's time) and when I first saw it it bored the hell out of me but I watched it years later and developed a certain appreciation for the film. With sci-fi movies like that it's a simple case of, "You either hate it or love it." But one thing is for sure, the story was anything but weak and shallow.

I hope they'd cast another actress, but if they did use Charlize or Noomi I'd be okay with that. ^_^
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
"Squirrel!"
