The first film hasn’t even released its second trailer yet, but apparently Paramount and Marvel are convinced it’s going to rock our worlds to the point that they’ve already hired the film’s original writers, Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, to come back and write the sequel, according to Latino Review.

 

Now the interesting thing about the Captain America sequel is that it would take place in contemporary times after the events of The Avengers. Remember, the only way Captain America – who was crafted to become a super soldier back in the 1960s -- is able to team up with these other superheroes is because he’s frozen in ice at the end of a wicked battle with Red Skull (played by Hugo Weaving in the upcoming movie) and then discovered decades later. Chris Evans (Captain America) is signed for six films total, so we should expect at least one sequel to come out of The First Avenger, which hits theaters on July 22nd.

 

Arnold Schwarzenegger Announces Return to Acting

 

Now that he’s no longer the Governor of California, it looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to return to acting. Last night he tweeted the following: "Exciting news. My friends at CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously. Gave them the green light today."

 

There’s no word yet on which films he’s going to tackle (no Kindergarten Cop sequels please!), but he recently cited three different scripts he was considering, including With Wings As Eagles, about a German soldier in World War II who helps rescue POWs against the orders of his commanding officers. Whatever he takes on, don’t expect Arnold to jump right back into a big-time action role. He’s noted previously, "In the future I have to adapt my roles to my age. Clint Eastwood also has done it in the same way. Extreme fighting or shooting is not possible anymore."

 

Emma Watson to Team with Taylor Lautner on ‘Incarceron’?

 

Are fans ready for the first teaming of the Harry Potter and Twilight franchises, or is that just too much to handle right now? Now that both franchises are wrapping up, it looks like Taylor Lautner (Jacob from Twilight) may be snatching up Emma Watson (Hermoine from Harry Potter) and having her star as his leading lady in the sci-fi action flick Incarceron.

 

JustJared reports that Watson is the frontrunner to play Claudia in the film, which is based on the novel by Catherine Fisher. The story follows two youngsters – a prisoner in a futuristic-type prison (Lautner) and the warden’s daughter (Watson) who’s living in her own prison, a futuristic world made to look like the 17th century. Together the two discover something that could help them both escape their respective situations.

 

No word yet on release date, but this could be a pretty big film with these two onboard. Thoughts?
