Another week gone by (that was fast, huh?), which means it's time to take a look at the five biggest, most noteworthy stories of the week before asking you to choose which one you feel is the cream of the crop – the cat's meow – or, as we like to call it: The Hottest Story of the Week.   1. 'Avatar' Trailer Debuts – After months (screw that – years!) of waiting for even the tiniest glimpse of James "This Will Change Movies Forever" Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar, 20th Century Fox finally released a trailer that definitely received mixed reactions online. Some folks thought it looked too fake or too much like the Star Wars prequels, while defenders of the film urged others to give it a second chance on the big screen in 3D, which is the way Cameron prefers you watch it. Spider-Man 5 and 6 Writer – Though Spider-Man 4 hasn't even gone into production yet, Sony wasted no time in bringing on James Vanderbilt to write the scripts for parts five and six, which will include an interconnected story arc across both films. What it feels like is Sony getting ready to reboot (or reimagine) the franchise with a new cast and director once Sam Raimi completes part four, set to film next year for a due date of May 2011. And that's exactly what appears to be going on behind the scenes as Julia Dahl (Uptown Girls) has been commissioned to write the script for a remake that may or may not include a Jennifer Grey cameo post-nose job!   4. 'Eclipse' Begins Shooting – Tween girls everywhere were thrilled to learn that the third installment in The Twilight Saga had officially begun production in Vancouver. Not only that, but Summit Entertainment also announced that they'll be doing a touring Twilight convention across America for those fans who want a little extra vamp in their daily diet. [Read More]

Downey Jr. to Play a Vampire – Folks has mixed emotions earlier this week when it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. may be considering a part as Anne Rice's iconic vampire character Lestat, once famously played by Tom Cruise in Interview with the Vampire. Downey Jr. would take on the blonde, bi-sexual rock vamp in a remake of The Vampire Chronicles, though nothing official has been announced just yet. [Read More]
