I don’t know about you, but I’ve been itching for a supernatural ballerina flick. Hot off his indie hit The Wrestler, director Darren Aronofsky is tackling a new film set in the world of ballet called Black Swan. Natalie Portman is already set to star, and now The Hollywood Reporter tells us Mila Kunis is in discussions to join the cast in a pretty interesting role.
See, the film tells of a talented ballerina (Portman) who is tormented by a rival ballerina (Kunis) leading up to a big performance, though the twist is that Kunis’ character may or may not actually exist. So it’s kinda like a psychological thriller set to ballet music with two of the hottest actresses in Hollywood going at each other for a couple hours. Hmm … I think I want to marry this movie, like, tomorrow!
Black Swan will begin production in New York City this fall, and there’s currently no release date. Chances are an actor will be added to this equation at some point to up the love triangle factor, though that would be too predictable. That said, Aronofsky is a great director, and I trust him with just about anything – even if it sounds a little iffy. What do you think of Portman vs. Kunis in the creepiest ballet flick ever?
Black Swan, Mila Kunis, Natalie Portman
Being a ballerina myself, the idea of a dance movie that is not a la fame is quite intriguing. Throw in two of the most talented and beautiful gals in Hollywood? Now its a party.
Oooo this sounds like it could be a great movie -- looking forward to it.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
