'The Hunger Games,' Brad Pitt Lead Fandango Users' Most Anticipated of 2013

Fandango fans are forward thinkers. Our loyal users have been looking forward to the movies of 2013 even before 2012 even drew to a close.

We polled Fandango’s readers about their Most Anticipated movie experiences for the coming year, and were surprised by the results. According to those surveyed, for example, Ben Kingsley’s The Mandarin from Iron Man 3 was the Most Anticipated Villain by a large margin (topping Benedict Cumberbatch’s Star Trek Into Darkness baddie and Michael Shannon’s General Zod from Man of Steel). And Brad Pitt’s World War Z was named the Most Anticipated Apocalyptic Movie ahead of M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim, This Is the End and Oblivion, with Tom Cruise.

This wasn’t much of a surprise, however: The Hunger Games – Catching Fire was named the Most Anticipated Blockbuster by Fandango readers … an obvious choice given the fact that the original Hunger Games movie was our top advance ticket-seller from 2012.
