With only one major release this week (aside from Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter expanding), we thought it might be fun to deviate from our usual Friday box office post and, instead, ask you to predict Paranormal Activity 2’s opening box office numbers. After all, we already know this film will win the weekend, but will it conquer the previous installment’s wild $193 million worldwide (this off a film that cost something like $11 grand to make)?
How Much Will ‘Paranormal Activity 2’ Make Opening Weekend?online survey
Box Office, Paranormal Activity 2
I was thinking maybe just a little over 20million but it did far better then that. Congrats PA2!!! Frightening movie and plan on seeing it again...'this time without shielding part of my vision, next time around!!
Im a fan! but I think watching them in a dark theatre makes the movies way scarier than watching them at home with the surround sound and its just creepier there. Also i bought the first one and watched it at home and was like why was i so scared of that in theatres? but i love it anyways ! im gonna see the 2nd one tonight im totally scared! i think it will beat jackass for sure
The first movie was horribly bad, and this one is no doubt either equally as odious, or worse. The lack of anything resembling a pulse is present throughout, and only those with weak minds who were scared by such dross as the blair witch project will find this frightening. I say the guardians of gahoole would be scarier than this, but talking animals always have terrified me
That's right i'm not obligated to see this film, nor will i waste a dollar to rent this one. The purpose of a blog is to post positive, and negative criticism about movies. I am sure this movie will do well, being that it is so close to Halloween, but that doesn't make it a good movie. It just seems as though this is a trendy film, that lacks quality. I just don't want to see the movie industry picking up on this, and start to make a chain of low budget, low quality films. It seems that at least a few people agree with my comment about the first one not even being scary. So, I guess all those people that are scared better bring their teddy bear with them to the movies.
Wow I would love to see this movie. The first one to me had its scares and some parts had the boos (I will admit). But the only thing with this is that like movie-lover-freak said you aren't obligated so why talk about it. To me this movie is really good especially while it is coming out around Halloween. This movie is going to make at least 40-50M just from opening until Thanksgiving. Good luck views and happy watching.....
I would like to see this sequel. The first was very scary and the second one seems more. I can't wait to see it. I think it will go over the $50m. And if people don't like this movie, don't even talk about it, it's not like your obligated to see it you lame fools.
there both awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! idk what u peps r talkin about i got 2 freakin good screams out of the first 1 lets see the second excited ima go see it today lol
finally someone who knows wat there talking about lol
The first movie was the most lame movie I've seen...I hope they are listing this one as a comedy...because the first one was.
I finally saw the first one about a week ago. It was fairly creepy, but by the end of the movie, I was completely not scared. The ending was a real let down. The included alternate ending on the disc was better than the theatrical ending, in my opinion. I won't be seeing this, and I really don't think it'll have that big of an opening. It'll probably break 20M, but I don't see it going over 35M, tops.
I saw it. It was just as scary as the first one. My theatre was packed.
I would like to see this film looks pretty good, the first one was pretty scary so i bet this one will be too. If these are the kind of movies that are going to be made i'm totally going to keep watchen them.
Why would anyone want to see this sequel at all? The first film was not scary. If this is the kind of movies that the movie industry is going to start making, I would stop going.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
