Iron Man 3
Just days after Jessica Chastain dropped out of playing the female lead in Iron Man 3, The Town star Rebecca Hall is now in negotiations for the role. Chastain dropped out citing a busy work schedule but optimistically hoped for another shot at a Marvel movie somewhere down the road.
Meanwhile, Hall has starred in a number of indie hits ranging from Woody Allen's Vicky Christina Barcelona to Christopher Nolan's The Prestige. She recently starred in The Town and the critically acclaimed Will Ferrell drama Everything Must Go and will return to theaters later this year in the horror flick The Awakening.
The female lead role is described as a sexy scientist who is every bit as smart as Tony Stark. The scientist will play a pivotal role in the creation of a nanotechnology known as Extremis that winds up being sold to terrorists.
The plot for Iron Man 3 will borrow elements from Warren Ellis' six-issue Iron Man: Extremis, which also heavily influenced the first Iron Man movie, and focus on the spread of a virus through nanotechnology.
Do you like Hall for the female lead role?
In perhaps the most obvious sequel announcement in the history of cinema, Disney CEO Robert Iger officially announced that The Avengers 2 is in development. Of course, we knew a sequel was happening when Marvel president Kevin Feige announced the various stages of Marvel movie production a few months ago. Now the only question is which characters will appear in the second Avengers movie and will Joss Whedon be back to direct?
A sequel to Kick-Ass has been floating around for quite some time. Up until now, there were just random rumors but nothing concrete to back it up. That might have changed when writer Mark Millar tweeted "Sorry, I can't answer any Kick-Ass 2 specifics for a day or two, but suffice to say that Matthew [Vaughn] and I are very happy. More soon."
He later linked to a THR story which stated that Vaughn was close to closing a deal with Universal to produce the sequel. He is unlikely to return to direct as he is busy with a sequel to X-Men: First Class. Vaughn has apparently chosen Never Back Down director Jeff Wadlow to direct Kick-Ass 2.
Cast-wise, Aaron Johnson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are both expected to return, although there is doubt that Chloe Moretz would be able to reprise her role of Hit Girl due to a scheduling conflict with her Carrie remake.
Can Kick-Ass 2 be a hit without the scene-stealing Hit Girl?

The Avengers, Kick-Ass, Iron Man 3, Rebecca Hall
It would be cool to add Spider-Man to The Avengers 2. But I would hope they could find a better Spider-Man than Andrew Garfield.
I don't think there's a point in making Kick-*** 2 without Chloe Moretz.
I think so, they can hit it off well.
really Kick *** 2 with no hit girl?!!? Aaron Johnson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse werent good at all
The movie "Kick-Ass" wasn't good at all either.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
