End of Week Recap: Justin Bieber Wants to Re-make 'Fear,' DC Comics' New Logos and Ralph Fiennes Reads Erotic 'Harry Potter' Fan Fiction

 

Justin Bieber is looking to follow in the footsteps of Mark Wahlberg. Movieweb reports that Bieber is so obsessed with Wahlberg's 1996 thriller Fear that he's eyeing possibly remaking the movie, hoping it will give his image and career the same edge it gave Wahlberg's. It is speculated that Bieber's Fear would be tamed down to a PG-13 so that his young fans wouldn't be turned away via an R rating.

 

Rather than work on a Bridesmaids sequel, Kristen Wiig is in negotiations to star as Ben Stiller's fantasy girl in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Stiller will direct himself in the lead role originally played by Danny Kaye in the 1947 film.

 

Warner Bros. has bumped Bryan Singer's Jack and the Giant Killer out of its summer 2012 release date to March 2013 and removed Arthur & Lancelot from their release schedule altogether citing budget concerns.

 

Jeff Smith's long-running comic book series Bone is moving forward toward being adapted for the big screen.

 

A sequel to the 2008 Will Smith superhero movie Hancock is still under consideration. Director Peter Berg says he's attended meetings where he, Smith and producers Michael Mann and Akiva Goldsmith have started to hash out an idea for a sequel.

 

Seth Gordon (The King of Kong, Horrible Bosses) has lined up his next movie. Gordon will re-team with Jason Bateman for Identity Theft, which will co-star Melissa McCarthy. Production is expected to begin once Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part II) finished rewriting the script.

 

Tommy Lee Jones has joined Matthew Fox as part of the cast for The Emperor. Jones will star as General Douglas MacArthur, who must oversee post-war Japan and the fate of Emperor Hirohito.

 

 

Joss Whedon's supernatural romance In Your Eyes appears to have found its leading lady. Abigail Spencer, who's appeared in Mad Men and Cowboys & Aliens, is in negotiations for the starring role.

 

A man died in a movie theater restroom and no one noticed for FIVE days. George DeCrazio, 66, was reported missing and police conducted a search. His car was found three days after the report was filed, but it was another two days before employees at a Cinemark theater noticed an odor and forced their way into a locked restroom where they discovered DeCrazio, dead of a heart attack.

 

Target stores will sneak peek Breaking Dawn – Part II at select stores next month in conjunction with the release of Part I's DVD and Blu-Ray release. Lionsgate also hinted at possibly continuing the franchise beyond the books.

 

If you were hoping The Expendables 2 was going to more of the same testosterone-fueled action bonanza the first movie was, Chuck Norris would like you to reconsider that thought. The former Walker, Texas Ranger says that his involvement in the sequel was contingent on the movie getting a PG-13 movie and being wiped clean of salty language.

 

Eastman Kodak has filed for bankruptcy.
