Get ready for one of the more absurd rumors you'll read all week. According to Comic Book Movie – who've been shoveling out some doozies this past month – Christopher Nolan is entertaining the idea of giving a cameo to Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight Rises. Since Legder unfortunately passed on prior to The Dark Knight hitting theaters, in order to do this they'd have to either use old never-before-used footage from The Dark Knight and/or some sort of CGI wizardry, similar to what The Sopranos did with Tony's mother Livia after that actress had passed away.
Heath Ledger, Christopher Nolan, Batman, Dark Knight Rises
Fanboy Fix, The Dark Knight Rises
I love the idea! As long as it's done in good taste. I trust that Christopher Nolan would do a good job with it. Heath was an excellent Joker and it would be nice to pay tribute to him one last time. When I first heard of Heath being cast as the Joker I had many, many doubts and didn't think he would pull it off. He proved me wrong and shocked the world. I say go for it Chris Nolan!
Cameo OK in concept but I'm a lot more worried about what they are going to use as a plot and villain(s)--Man Bat? Please, no Riddler or Penguin. As good as Heath/Joker was, they tried to cram in too much with the inclusion of the Two Face character in the last film. It ultimately didn't work for me. I wonder if they should just let it go, but then where else would Christian Bale find an acting job where he just has to play himself?
chris nolan lets do this remember I AM A MAN OF MY WORD
If its ok with his family, id say go for it! Heath definitley the reason the dark kngiht was such a huge success. It was kind of disheartening knowing that he wouldnt be in the 3rd movie at all after him playing such a great role!
I think it would be wonderful to pay tribute to Heath and his WONDERFUL portrayal of the Joker. I disagree that it's morbid. I disagree that its to hype the new movie. So what about the way he died??? His acting is what we are paying tribute to...not how he lived or died.
I'd love to see Heath again. He left too soon!
If Nolan has footage from a cut scene that'd work for a quick spot to add some continuity, then yes. It'd be a good idea. I know there may be some ridiculous rumors that have been floating around about The Dark Knight Rises(the Killer Croc ones take the cake though), but this one seems completely viable, since it would directly fit the theme of what Nolan is doing with the franchise.
He didn't leave, he checked out. No one forced the drugs into his system
yes! we want Heath!
Works for me. After all, the character is still alive and kicking at the end of Dark Knight. After all the mayhem, I think we need some kind of closure with Joker. If not, there is always a chance that the character will escape Arkham and resume the arch villian thing. The security at Arckham is sadly lacking and the continued escapes have grown tired and implausable. I think the old boy deserves the death penalty, don't you? I guess that depends on which State of the Union Gotham City is supposed to reside. So yes, let's pay one last hommage to Heath, finalized his character and getting on with the franchise. I can only pray that no one is considering a stab at The Penguin. To go camp would be an awful mistake to Nolan's superb vision.
This isn't such a big deal, It would be the same as when Lisa Marie and Elvis or Natalie Cole and Nat sang duets together long after the deaths of their fathers. Heath reinvented the joker and made him truly dark to compliment Christian's version of Batman. The Joker was probably Heath Ledger's greatest role. Yes, if it can be done give Heath a cameo in the "Dark Knight Rises". I can hear the audience applaus already when Heath appears on screen. I think if Heath were alive he'd consider it an honor. I belive that his family will too!
I think it was disgraceful to release the terrible film, Dr. Parnasus, Making that Heath's last film, when his last film had been his masterpiece, The Dark Knight. I say give him another short moment in a Christopher Nolan Film and let him go out with a bang!
Christopher Nolan and his wife (his co-producer of the film) have already said they won't be using any of Ledger's footage in the new Batman movie :) There was just an article about it yesterday in the news.
I don't particularly see a reason to pay a "tribute" to someone who died from a drug overdose.
I can't very well argue with that.
Most people tend to forget Ledger died because he O.D.ed.
He was on prescribed drugs because he couldn't sleep and had issues. Probably somewhat due to playing this character, in addition to having relationship issues. I hardly call mixing ambien and a painkiller a drug overdose. He wasn't shooting up heroin or downing bottles of pills, he was taking things that were prescribed, and mixing even 2 non harmful drugs can be a lethal combination, especially when one is a sleeping pill. Accidental drug overdoses are common among elderly too, so if your grandmother dies from accidently taking one too many blood pressure pills, can we all say that she died from a drug overdose and deserves no respect after she's dead? Give me a break!
yeah, this cocktail looks pretty normal : * Oxycodone for pain
* Hydrocodone - the pain reliever found in Vicodin
* Valium (diazepam)
* Temazepam for anxiety or sleeplessness
* Xanax (alprazolam)
* Doxylamine - a sedating antihistamine There's your break jklaaren. Get your facts straight next time
Actually that's completely normal for someone who needs those medications jackhole.
And I would know, because I'm on 3 of those 5. And if I were having anxiety or allergies then I"d have the other 2 also. You are a supreme jerk.
and defenders of him are a complete waste of oxygen. too bad he died but he did it to himself. grow up and face reality
regardless of what was in his body, you weren't there, you do not know what his intentions were, and you have no right to say that someone doesn't deserve respect after death based on assumptions. Its just completely rude and insensitive. You can read an entire article on the medical examiner's report here: [BLOCKED WEBSITE] As you can see, even they do not know how these were prescribed to him, so for all you know, they were legitimately prescribed to him by some doctor that didn't know his full medical history. A doctor was just arrested here for this, and 3 people died b/c of him. You just don't know the circumstances, and there's no reason to try and trash him.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
