Guess who’s baaaaack? If you somehow haven’t managed to get your fill of James Cameron’s Avatar yet (what’s the matter with you – the thing has made like a trillion dollars!), then carve out some time around August 27th because 20th Century Fox is throwing that sucker back into theaters with eight extra minutes of footage. Eight minutes!
Avatar, James Cameron, 3-D
I saw this movie three times in Imax 3d. loved it.
have the blu ray dvd.
will be back in the theatre when it comes out again.
I can't wait! Love the adventure, the story, the actors, cannot wait! But I am even more excited about Avatar part 2!
I only saw this in DVD format but it was still awesome. I already reserved two tickets to see it twice at a XD 3D theater, and going for a 3rd time in Imax to compare. This is gonna be an awesome experience!
I have already seen it twice in Digital 3D and can't wait to see it again !! This movie experience is unlike no other I have ever had. If you don't go see it in 3D you are missing the best movie of all time.
You bet I am going to see this -- When the original version came out I saw it 2 times in 2D and 5 Times in 3D. This is a great film to just get your head away from the problems we have here on earth. Of course I own the Blu Ray disk which brings up my viewing total to somewhere around 30 times. DLD_STPETE
Saw it 4 times in 3D the first time around; will definetly go back for more! Our theatre hasn't even heard about the re-release yet. How do we find out where it will be and for how long?
Diwillard, it will be out for two, maybe three weeks. Supposedly, Cameron decided to make it nine, not eight extra minutes of "never before seen footage". We will probably find out where it will play in two weeks.
You bet, probably a couple more times. We drove an hour each way for IMAX 3D and no one regretted it. Grandma and Grandpa loved it, the kids loved it. Great message, but what a spectacle in IMAX 3D. We will be there opening day of the extended and I know it will be a sell out easily for the first few days. The idea of taking the next movie to the sea is great too!
I'm looking forward to seeing Avatar two or three more times. Hope it will play nearby, but I'll drive if I have to.
Definitely going! Missed it in 3-D the last time. cant wait.
Ghaziya, It IS food! Food for the SOUL! that deeply nourishes the spirit!
I can not WAIT! I was not in on the hype of this movie (I know ... I was in a bubble) but once I saw it on DVD I was kicking myself for not seeing it in theaters! But if it comes back out I will be seeing it in 3-D!!!!! WOO HOO!
but will it be just for one night???????
It will be re-released August 27, 2010. I heard somewhere that it will be in theaters for 2-3 weeks.
omg, Jake's character goes through a total transformation. he goes from being told what he CAN'T do, with legs that don't work, to opening his eyes in a fully functioning senses-heightened body where his 'strong heart' and fearlessness, combined with that body, give him near TOTAL FREEDOM. he comes fully ALIVE! then he goes from being a completely dedicated military guy to realizing his allegiance is unintentionally shifting to the Omaticaya people. he is becoming one of them, FOR REAL. I think his internal journey is way deep and way powerful. he completely changes the way he looks at things. he himself is completely changed.
Very well analyzed. Good job Kathy1111. I intend on seeing it as many more times in theaters as I can afford. Hey, who needs to eat anyway. =)
What I need to know is how soon can I order my tickets, Yes I will go see it again and again when it is here in IMAX or Digital 3D!!! I'm a tech so maybe I appreciate the technology more than others but Avatar is the best movie I have ever seen and the cast is absolutely wonderful. Maybe Cameron acts like a pain once in a while but he is a genius so in my opinon he can be less than patient with mere mortals. A director that is smart enough to allow Sam's personality to come through to the character is always going to make money in my opinon. Too bad Hollywood has so few real MALES like Sam.
It will be re-released August 27, 2010.
I haven't seen it yet. I had to edit some promos using the footage from the movie and it looks like a fun movie to see in the theater.
1st of all when???? and 2nd of all WHAT THE ^^^^!!!!!!!!
I will definitely go see it again. I LOVE the movie and own the DVD, but there's nothing like seeing it on the big screen in 3D! And what's with the whole "Pocahontas" thing I wonder how many of these whiners didn't even consider the fact that the stories are similar until they heard/read some other whiners b!tching about it. C'mon people It's an awesome movie with great special effects, amazing music, and a really good story line. I also can't imagine how someone could say it was too long. I personally couldn't believe it was over when Jake opened his eyes after Eywa allowed him to truly become Na'Vi by surviving in his avatar body. It seemed like the movie had just started. I'm looking forward to the re-release AND Avatar 2 in 2012(?)!
Loved it all four times. Twice in 2D, once in digital 3D & once in IMAX 3D. It a most see, if you have not seen it yet, see it now.
Going back this Summer to see Avatar in IMAX 3D is a tuff decision. With the Blue - Ray release, a 55" plasma screen TV and the Bose 5.1 Theater System built in ; It'll be hard to go back ! I sure wish the Blue-Ray release was 3D though, But it's almost the same as being their.....
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
