When a terminally ill, elderly priest at the seminary makes a sudden recovery and claims to have spoken to long dead Jesuit founder, Joseph Martin, the other clerics believe it's a miracle. Boyer soon learns what spurred Warner's recovery but is unable to reveal it due to the seal of the confessional.
