In This Is the End James Franco, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen and a slew of other famous faces throw an epic party–before being faced with the apocalypse. And because it’s more fun to see what these actors would do in survival mode than a bunch of fictional characters, they all play themselves (or at least exaggerated versions). Here are 10 more films that feature celebrities skewering their public personas in the name of entertainment.

Topher Grace in Ocean’s 11 and Ocean’s 12

Topher is one of a handful of young stars to make a cameo during a poker tutorial led by Brad Pitt and George Clooney in Ocean’s 11. The actor’s brief but memorable appearance in the sequel is even better, with a long-haired Grace whining to Pitt about a lost love that inspired him to trash his hotel room. Watch

John Malkovich in Being John Malkovich

Serious actor John Malkovich does a great job of playing a haughty version of himself in Being John Malkovich. Our favorite hyperbolic take on the actor's private life in the film is the idea of him being close friends with Charlie Sheen, also playing up his public persona -- though we’re fairly certain he would be into “hot lesbian witches” even if the cameras weren’t rolling. Neil Patrick Harris in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle

When the first Harold and Kumar came out in 2004, Neil Patrick Harris was known for being the child star of Doogie Howser M.D., so having him play himself tripping balls and demanding “fur burgers” was the natural way to go. Scoring with How I Met Your Mother and on Broadway while becoming a respected figure in the gay community made his outrageous, drug-fueled appearances in the following sequels even more fun. Watch

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back

Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes’ Hollywood-skewering adventure showcases tons of cameos (Mark Hamill's especially awesome), but Ben Affleck and Matt Damon basically steal the whole movie while filming Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season. The real-life buddies portray themselves as paycheck-chasing movie stars who have happily sold out in order to spout lines like “Its hunting season!” and “Applesauce, bitch." Watch

Mike Tyson in The Hangover

Considering that Mike Tyson freely admitted that he was high on cocaine while shooting his scenes for The Hangover, we suspect that the Tyson we’re privy to in the film – singing along to Phil Collins, punching people unprovoked, owning tigers - was not much of an exaggeration from the real thing. Ryan Seacrest in Knocked Up

Ryan Seacrest’s brief but memorable cameo in Knocked Up, where he has a mini breakdown when Jessica Simpson is late to an interview, showed a sense of humor the host rarely gets to showcase on any of his various TV and radio gigs. “I’m more famous than half the people we talk to anyway!” he declares, exasperated. We know he’s just being funny, but he’s right. Watch

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Last Action Hero

Arnold goes meta in this box-office bomb, playing fictional character Jack Slater who magically jumps from his action movie world into the real world, where he’s known by the actor portraying him, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The star has some fun toying with his own hyper-masculine, one-liner-spouting reputation, but all satire on the genre is lost when the movie turns out to be an actually dumb action movie. Watch

Megan Fox plays with her super-sexualized persona in Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator, portraying herself as a high-class escort who sleeps with world leaders for sparkly jewels. We wonder how many humorless starlets Cohen approached before Fox agreed to have a bit of fun at her own expense. Watch

Al Pacino in Jack & Jill

Here Al Pacino’s forced to develop a crush on – and be rejected by! – Adam Sandler in drag, but even more humiliating is his rap song where he bastardizes his most famous quotes from The Godfather, Scarface and others to sell Dunkaccinos (“Say hello to my chocolate blend!”). Pacino demanding that Sandler burn every copy of the ad does little to quell us of our secondhand embarrassment. Watch

Bill Murray in Zombieland

Actors love to play themselves as pompous or crazy, thinking that they’re playing against type. But Bill Murray, who often plays himself (see Coffee and Cigarettes and Space Jam), plays his best version in Zombieland, taking bong hits, reenacting Ghostbusters and cavorting with his zombie-evading trespassers. We bet Murray would be exactly like this if the walking dead were ever to force us onto his property. Watch
