The former football player-turned professional World Wrestling Federation star, Dwayne “The Rock" Johnson won the WWF Heavyweight title six times. These days, he’s a heavyweight at the box office -- from action films to comedies. Here are some of his notable big-screen knockouts.

HERCULES (2014)

Who better to save the world than the beefed-up Dwayne Johnson? As the mythical Greek hero, Johnson promises an action-packed thrill ride.

THE MUMMY RETURNS (2001)

This sequel to the 1999 hit 'The Mummy' marked The Rock/Dwayne Johnson’s feature film debut, playing The Scorpion King. His was one of five faces on the theatrical poster, but that’s before he stole the show and got his very own prequel.

THE SCORPION KING (2002)

After making his debut in a supporting role in 'The Mummy Returns,' The Rock scored top billing in this film, playing the titular character, Mathayus.

THE RUNDOWN (2003)

In this action-adventure comedy, Johnson (billed as The Rock) stars as a bounty hunter -- and aspiring chef -- who is sent to the Brazilian rainforest for one last job.

GET SMART (2008)

As Agent 23, Johnson plays a secret baddie who’s got Maxwell Smart fooled. “The old double-agent as upstanding member of KONTROL trick.”

PLANET 51 (2009)

In this animated adventure, Johnson voices Captain Chuck Baker, an astronaut who invades a planet of little green people who see him as a visiting alien.

RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN (2009)

Disney's original 1975 film, 'Escape to Witch Mountain,' starred Kim Richards, who is now known as one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. This “continuation” of that film stars Dwayne Johnson, who will probably not suffer the same fate.

TOOTH FAIRY (2010)

This family comedy allowed Johnson to show off his comedic side, playing a real-life Tooth Fairy. The humorous image of this burly star sporting fairy wings hooked audiences in a big way.

FASTER (2010)

In this thriller, Johnson stars as an ex-con released from jail -- on a mission to avenge his brother’s murder. Huh, sounds like a good way to wind up back in the big house.

FAST FIVE (2011)

Playing DSS Agent Luke Hobbs, Johnson joined the 'Fast and the Furious' franchise in 2011. He also starred in the sixth installment -- 2013's 'Fast & Furious' -- and part 7 is slated to hit theaters in 2015.

JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (2012)

Loosely based on Jules Verne's novel, this sequel to 2008's 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' finds Johnson inheriting the franchise from his 'Mummy Returns' co-star, Brendan Fraser. Another sequel starring Johnson is set for a 2015 release, titled 'Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon.' Hmm… wonder where that one will take place?

G.I. JOE:  RETALIATION (2012)

This movie may be based on a kids’ doll – sorry, "action figure" – but it’s got plenty of testosterone: It features Johnson, Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum. How do you like them guns?

PAIN & GAIN (2013)

Along with Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Mackie, Johnson starred in director Michael Bay's caper comedy about bodybuilders who get caught up in some dirty business.

SNITCH (2013)

Johnson must go undercover for the DEA to try to free his estranged son, who was wrongly imprisoned after being set up in a drug deal. Spoiler: At the end of the film, Johnson hast to enter the Witness Protection Program, which should be easy since he’s the kind of generic-looking guy who could blend in anywhere (not).
