The latest installment of the Ocean’s Eleven franchise drops the number down to eight and fills the roster with women. Who are the specialists who make up the spin-off’s octet of jewel thieves? Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock)

The estranged sister of notorious heist mastermind Danny Ocean (George Clooney in the other movies), she’s also a career criminal and natural born leader. She just recently got out of prison and immediately plans a new robbery at The Met Gala in New York City.

Lou (Cate Blanchett)

Debbie’s best friend and former partner in crime, she’s now a nightclub owner. She is also a concerned voice of reason — especially if there’s more to The Met Gala job than just a jewel heist — though she does, reluctantly, wind up helping to plot the robbery alongside her BFF. 

Amita (Mindy Kaling)

A jewelry maker tasked with creating replicas of the necklace the women will be lifting at The Met Gala. She is thrilled to be able to do something big and rebellious for once. She also lives with her overbearing mother and so can’t wait to take her cut and run.

Tammy (Sarah Paulson)

The fence of the crew, she’s in charge of moving the product once they’ve stolen it, turning the fancy jewels into millions of dollars. She is sort of retired from her life of crime, but it doesn’t take much to woo her away from her current roles as suburban housewife and mother.

Constance (Awkwafina)

A con artist and pickpocket who also spends her days hustling people on the streets of Queens with a three-card Monte scam. Her skill with sleight-of-hand trickery makes her the perfect crew member for switching the real jewels for the fakes.

Nine Ball (Rihanna)

A genius hacker, one of the best in America, she prefers to keep her real name a secret. Fortunately, Lou knows how to find her. Nine Ball’s task is cracking the Met’s ultra-sophisticated security system.

Rose (Helena Bonham Carter)

A struggling fashion designer who was once at the top of her field but now is in serious debt. She is tasked with creating the outfits for the crew to wear to The Met Gala as well as using what clout she still has to get close to the necklace that the women will be stealing.

Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway)

A world-famous movie star who has been invited to The Met Gala, she will wear, on loan, a $150 million Cartier necklace called “the Toussaint,” which is the main item of jewelry targeted by Debbie and her crew.

Claude Becker (Richard Armitage)

An art gallery curator who attends The Met Gala as Kluger’s date. He is also Debbie’s ex and may have had something to do with why she was sent away the last five years.

John Frazier (James Corden)

An insurance investigator attempting to figure out the crime, he is very familiar with the Ocean family. He’s not out to bust Debbie and her gang, though, just put it all together for himself.
