With all of these musical artists segueing to acting work as of late (Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus), you have to imagine that it's only a matter of time before Hollywood decides to remake one of the most iconic movie-musicals of all time: Grease. The original 1978 film was recently re-released this past summer in a sing-a-long format that allowed audiences to, well, sing along to all the music. Now, never the one to back down from speaking his mind (even if he does sound slightly idiotic), Justin Bieber is telling folks that he'd like to be the one who resurrects John Travolta's classic character on the big screen.
Speaking to those ultra super reliable chaps over at The Sun, Bieber said that he'd love to star in a Grease remake as Danny Zuko, with Miley Cyrus playing his main squeeze Sandy Olsson. To make his statements seem even more ridiculous, Bieber noted that Susan Boyle would "make an amazing Principal McGee."
Strange as it may sound – and even if these are just a series of blatant jokey quotes not to be taken seriously – I could see Bieber in a role like this in a couple of years. If his concert film/biopic takes off, this kid is only a year or two away from stretching his legs as a full-fledged actor – and you know they're going to first look for roles that have him belting out a tune or three.
