How did Willy Wonka become the eccentric chocolatier we’ve come to know from books and movies? Timothée Chalamet portrays the young Wonka at the beginning of his journey. In our exclusive featurette, Chalamet discusses what drew him to the role.

Wonka was directed by Paul King, who also directed Paddington and Paddington 2. Chalamet is joined by stars including Olivia Colman, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson and Hugh Grant as a very dignified Oompa-Loompa.
