The 2016 Cannes Film Festival is officially underway, and while a number of films will make their grand debut on the Croisette, there's always a little room for Hollywood to squeeze in some promo for its upcoming movies. As Woody Allen's latest, Cafe Society, opened up the fest proper, the stars of Trolls were on hand for a little performance of a song featured in the animated movie, due out November 4.
Watch below as Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick take the stage to perform a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" for the Cannes crowd.
In the film, Kendrick and Timberlake play a couple of trolls who team up to rescue their friends from a giant who's come to wreak havoc on their happy world (i.e. he's hungry and he eats trolls).
When we previewed footage of the film at CinemaCon last month, we learned it will be packed with a lot of music, with Timberlake assisting in the curation of the soundtrack. In addition to covers of "True Colors," we also watched a scene where they sing Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sounds of Silence" (hence the reference in the video above) as well as "Dream a Little Dream" by the Mamas and the Papas.
Check out the Trolls teaser below, and expect more music from Timberlake and Kendrick in advance of the film's November 4 release.
