Made on a small budget, the 2010 Eli Roth produced horror flick The Last Exorcism was a surprise hit and turned such a nice profit that it secured a sequel. The trailer for that sequel has arrived today, with the storyline picking up where the first film left off.
Ashley Bell returns as Nell Sweetzer, who is trying to build a new life following the events of the first movie, but the evil force that once possessed her returns.
Ed Gass-Donnelly writes, directs and edits the sequel with Roth retuning in a producer role. Gass-Donnelly has helmed a pair of features including 2010's Small Town Murder Songs. There's certainly a more dramatic tone to this film as opposed to the original, which had horror-thriller director Daniel Stamm at the helm.
Are you looking forward to this sequel? Did you like the first film?
The Last Exorcism: Part II arrives in theaters March 1.
