So what is a mysterious woman from his past, played by Anne Hathaway, doing in the only neighborhood bar in sight? And what on earth could she want from him now?
First things first. The former sea captain explains to the persistent woman that he is no longer called "John." Surely that piques her curiosity further, but she still wants to talk to him about something in private. He resists, which tells us more about the past relationship between the two, and also, perhaps, why he wanted to get away from her and everything he knew.
