Mary Poppins Returns

An award-winning actress as well as an exceptional musical talent, Emily Blunt has now taken on the challenge of starring as a nanny extraordinaire in Mary Poppins Returns, opening soon in theaters everywhere. The film begins as Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) and his sister Jane (Emily Mortimer) are struggling to deal with tough economic times and the very real danger of losing their family home.

Mary Poppins arrives just in the nick of time. She helps Michael and Jane deal with their challenges, while providing loving care for Michael's three young children. The nanny also enlists the assistance of Topsy, played by Meryl Streep, a relative who can help turn things around for the Banks family. In a new video, director Rob Marshall describes Blunt as "the perfect Mary Poppins," a thought echoed by Streep, who says that Blunt was "born to play" the role and has "a great sense of comic timing." We also hear from Lin-Manuel Miranda, who costars as a musically-inclined lamplighter.
