What does Disney's Cinderella look like as a big, colorful, live-action movie? Well, a lot like this.
Cinderella, coming out March 13, 2015, is the next in line after films like Alice in Wonderland and Maleficent to revisit some of Disney's classic characters in live-action form. This Cinderella looks like it very much sticks to the story we all know about the poor maiden harrassed by her wicked stepfamily whose magical fairy godmother (Helena Bonham Carter) makes her princess dreams come true... until the clock strikes midnight, that is.
Lily James (Downton Abbey) plays Cinderella while Richard Madden plays Prince Charming, but the real highlight here is Cate Blanchett as the thorny, well-manicured Lady Tremaine. Talk about a character you immediately despise -- Blanchett just oozes despicableness, and we love every second of it. Meanwhile, director Kenneth Branagh (Thor) adds a touch of sophistication to his version.
