In the sprightly comedy Emma, based upon the beloved book by Jane Austen, Miss Emma Woodhouse (Anya Taylor-Joy) is the very picture of a proper young British woman. Clever, witty, wealthy and beautiful in appearance, Emma feels no pressing need to marry, though she does all she can to help her friends find worthy young men with whom to spend their lives. Her good intentions, however, sometimes spiral hilariously out of control.
Emma's generally outgoing, take charge personality contrasts with that of her friend George Knightley (Johnny Flynn). In our exclusive clip from the film, Emma and George are in attendance at a glittering ball when they have a moment to speak privately. Reflecting on a romantic match that did not work out as Emma had hoped for their friends, George pays her a kind, honest compliment that prompts her to ask a question that catches George off guard.
