Hollywood loves mining our past entertainments for nostalgic purposes. Transformers and Hot Wheels are just two examples of previous toy- and cartoon-based franchises that have happened, or will happen soon. And on top of that pile of warm, movie memories lies Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who will be kicking their way back into theaters in August.

The first full trailer for the upcoming Turtles movie arrived online, shortly after Paramount put on a huge presentation at the annual CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas. But you don’t have to travel all the way to Nevada to see the new TMNT. We have them for you right here!

Michael Bay produces this updated version of the classic turtle characters – pizza-loving karate experts who use their combat skills to clean up the streets of New York City. In the past, the Turtles were mutations coated in a toxic ooze. The reboot pretends that they are genetic mutations bred in a lab (perhaps) with the sole purpose of creating heroes?

It’s a bold departure from the Turtle mythology, and one that might disturb die-hard fans.

But they will see for themselves how the new Turtles play. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costars Megan Fox, William Fichtner and Will Arnett. It opens everywhere on August 8.
