The 2015 Toronto International Film Festival is in full swing, with many of this fall's most anticipated movies rolling out over the course of several days here in one of Canada's friendliest (and cleanest) cities. 

This year I'm here seeing as many movies as I possibly can, and in between them all I'm recording 15-second instant reviews for you to devour. Plenty more can be said about each and every one of these films, but if you want a quick bite-sized nugget to help give you a sense of what to expect, check this out.

Extras: Howard Shore's score really sets a great vibe for a film that's easily among one of the best ever made about journalists. Look for Mark Ruffalo to be in the hunt for awards along with the movie itself -- an essential watch on every level.

Extras: Jacob Tremblay continues a theme here in Toronto this year featuring phenomenal child performances. Add Beasts of No Nation's Abraham Attah to that list as well.

 

The Danish Girl

Extras: Eddie Redmayne had full support from the transgender community while working on this film as well as Lana Wachowski (The Matrix, Jupiter Ascending), who helped in a number of ways -- from inspiration to information about Lili and Gerda. 

 

Beasts of No Nation

Extras: Writer-director Cary Fukunaga and Idris Elba almost died making this film, and you can see why. It's incredibly authentic, and so real at times it's amazing when you think about how they pulled it all off. See it on the big screen if you can -- it really adds to the experience, especially when it comes to the film's excellent sound design.

 

Hardcore

The Lobster

Extras: The cast is what really sells this insane story, with Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz, John C. Reilly and especially Ben Whishaw all dishing out deliciously bizarre performances.
