After hearing bits and pieces of rumors for months, Lara Croft's return to the big screen has finally been made official. The Departed producer Graham King is re-launching the franchise that once starred Angelina Jolie with a plan to hit theaters in 2013.
King told Variety, "We are very excited to be rebooting what is already a hugely successful film franchise and continuing the Tomb Raider phenomenon." The first couple of films really helped launch Angelina Jolie as an action star, and so we expect the new franchise to do something similar for another actress.
Question is: Who would you choose as the next Lara Croft? Do you go with a familiar name or an unknown? And because Hollywood refuses to create action films for actresses (unless it's Angelina Jolie), it's hard to immediately pin-point the perfect actress for the role.
