Franchise Recap of the Day:

Dark Phoenix, the latest and potentially final installment of Fox’s X-Men movie series, arrives in theaters this weekend. In anticipation of Dark Phoenix, IMDb looks back on all the people who almost starred in X-Men, including Wolverine’s originally cast actor, Dougray Scott:

Franchise History of the Day:

Godzilla: King of the Monsters reigned at the box office over the weekend, proving the 65-year-old franchise still has some fire in its heart. While other videos have looked at the past versions of Godzilla leading to the new sequel, Midnight’s Edge looks back in the form of a retrospective celebration of the kaiju franchise:

Cosplay of the Day:

Fake Documentary of the Day:

Movie Trivia of the Day:

With John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum continuing to pack crowds in theaters, let’s find out how much we know about the trilogy starring Keanu Reeves as the titular assassin. Celebrating the latest release of the latest installment of the franchise, Screen Rant shares 25 bits of trivia concerning the first three John Wick movies:

Movie Theme Parody of the Day:

Everyone knows Huey Lewis and the News’ “The Power of Love” to be the unofficial theme song of Back to the Future, the movie for which it was written. Now, appropriately, it’s been modified as the latest Avengers: Endgame character anthems by Aaron Fraser-Nash, this one sung by Ant-Man:

Fan Art of the Day:

Speaking of Avengers: Endgame and time travel, one of the latest comics representing part of the movie by Teen Titans Go! artist Dan Hipp depicts Bruce Banner’s initial attempts to send Ant-Man back in time. This thing should be a t-shirt:

VFX Breakdown of the Day:

The most amazing thing about Pokémon Detective Pikachu is how it makes us believe humans and Pokémon truly live side by side in Ryme City. That’s partly thanks to the magic of Motion Picture Company and visual effect supervisor Pete Dionne, who guides us through the making of the CGI Pokémon in this video from Insider:
