Today the official site for Terminator Genisys (in theaters July 1, 2015) launched a countdown that ends December 4 at 1 p.m. PST, so either that's the day that Skynet launches the nukes and begins its assault on mankind or it's when the film's first trailer hits the Internet. We're going to guess it's the latter.
Directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World), Terminator Genisys journeys into some kind of alternate timeline where Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) has been raised as a child by a T-800 she calls Pops (Arnold Schwarzenegger), and while it may be a different version than what we first saw in James Cameron's Terminator, it still features the usual apocalypse-fighting suspects of Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) and John Connor (Jason Clarke).
Ahead of the trailer we've got a motion poster for the movie, which shows the iconic Terminator endoskeleton being ravaged by the sands of time. Get it? Because it's both a countdown and a movie about time travel.
