And now,` we return to Middle Earth for the final movie in the epic trilogy, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Hobbits are shy creatures with great strength and courage. While known for their short stature, they’re also known for their feet! Hobbits rarely wear shoes because their feet are tough, strong enough for a trip to Mordor, that’s for sure. Hobbit feet cookies are reminder that fun and adventure is everywhere. A brown sugar cinnamon cookie topped with chocolate curls, these sweet feet are a great snack to have by your side on any journey!

Hobbit Feet Cookies

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon baking powder

pinch of salt

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

1-1/2 cups brown sugar

1 egg

1-½ teaspoons vanilla

chocolate icing

slivered almonds

chocolate curls

Directions:

In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

In the bowl of an electric mixer cream the butter and sugar until combined.

Add the egg and vanilla, then slowly add in the dry ingredients until the dough comes together. The dough will form quickly, and when it starts to pull away from the bowl, it’s ready.

Split the dough into two and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill until you are ready to use.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prep baking sheets with a non-stick baking mat.

Roll out the dough to about 3/16 inch thick. Use a knife to cut out foot shapes. With the back of the knife add indentations along the toe area. Transfer onto the prepped baking sheets.

Bake for 10 minutes, let cool on a wire rack.

Trim the tips of the slivered almonds to look like toenails.

Use the chocolate icing to secure the almond toenails and the chocolate curls onto the top of the cookies. Serve.
