Emotions are always on high alert, especially in the mind of a tween. In Disney Pixar’s Inside Out, five emotions--joy, fear, anger, disgust and sadness--are all hard at work within the mind of an 11-year-old girl named Riley.
These little Jell-o cups are filled with the same colors as the movie’s team of emotions. Bright lemon-yellow Jell-o for Joy, purple grape Jell-o representing Fear, raging strawberry-red Jell-o for Anger, lime-green Jell-o is still delicious while representing Disgust, and berry blue is very blue for Sadness. Mixed together these Jell-o flavors make up a whole cup of delicious wonderful feelings!
Inside Out Jell-o Cups
You’ll need:
12 (9 oz) clear cups
Optional:
4-inch wide printout of Inside Out “eyes”
tape
ingredients:
1 (3 oz) small box lemon Jell-o
1 (3 oz) small box grape Jell-o
1 (3 oz) small box strawberry Jell-o
1 (3 oz) small box lime Jell-o
1 (3 oz) small box berry Jell-o
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
2 cups boiling water
Directions:
Dissolve each box of Jell-o separately, using just one cup of boiling water per flavor. Pour into individual containers (small Tupperware works well) and chill overnight.
Once solid, cut the flavors of Jell-o into small blocks and mix together carefully. Place evenly into the 12 clear cups.
In a separate bowl, dissolve two envelopes unflavored gelatin in two cups of boiling water. Let cool a bit and stir in the condensed milk.
When the mixture is cool to the touch, pour cooled milk mixture over cubed Jell-o in the cups and chill overnight.
Optional: Cut out the emotions' eyes and tape to the cups to serve.
