'Mission Impossible 4' to be Called 'Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol'

'Mission Impossible'While attending a press conference in Dubai, Tom Cruise let slip that the official title of the next Mission Impossible film will be Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol. This is sort of a mixture of those earlier rumors which suggested this Mission Impossible would be without the Mission Impossible in the title, and that it'd go by some other name. Unlike the other Mission Impossible movies, this one will have a name – Ghost Protocol – but it'll still be called Mission Impossible so that people know it's a Mission Impossible movie. And now that I've type the words 'Mission Impossible' way too many times in one paragraph, I shall leave you to discuss whether or not that's a good title for the next Mission Impossible installment.

Judd Apatow's Next Film and J.J. Abrams' 'Super 8' Set Release Date

There's no title and no plot synopsis, but that's not stopping Universal from setting a release date of June 1, 2012 for Judd Apatow's next directorial effort. All we know at this time is that Apatow will write, produce and direct, and we should expect some of his usual cronies (including wife Leslie Mann and Seth Rogen) to pop up at some point. Following his previous dramedy Funny People, there's no telling where Apatow will go next. I'd expect him to make this one more female-centric than his others, but we'll see.

In other release date news, Paramount will release J.J. Abrams' super secretive Super 8 on June 10th, 2011. All we know about this one is that it's a throwback to Steven Spielberg's old Amblin films in that it takes place in the late-70s and stars a bunch of kids who discover a mysterious creature living amongst them. At least we think that's the plot, but there's no telling with Abrams since he likes to keep everything close to the chest until the release date draws nearer.

Tom Cruise and Taylor Swift Offered Role in 'Rock of Ages' Movie

'Rock of Ages'Reports are suggesting today that both Tom Cruise and Taylor Swift have been offered roles in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the popular Broadway musical Rock of Ages. Set in a run-down club during the 1980s and featuring a bevy of famous '80s rock songs and power ballads, Rock of Ages is a damn fun show and should make for a good time at the movies.

Word has it Cruise was offered the role of bartender, which may also be the flamboyant, living-in-the-70s club owner, currently played by Dee Snider in the Broadway show. Cruise's crazy role in Tropic Thunder has apparently warmed the actor to taking on these smaller scene-stealing parts. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift has also reportedly been offered the lead female role of Sherrie. In addition to these roles, Seth Rogen is rumored to be up for the role of Lonnie, the narrator, who I personally think should be played by Jack Black.

Have you seen Rock of Ages? Who would be your dream casting for the movie?
