Though originally rumored to be attached to Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful, Deadline has just broke news that Rachel Weisz is in "deep talks" to star opposite Jeremy Renner in The Bourne Legacy.

Weisz definitely has the acting chops and the looks to pull off a Bourne Girl role. The Tony Gilroy-directed fourth installment of the Bourne franchise doesn't start shooting until September, while Oz begins this summer. The time-frame sounds favorable.

The new Bourne movie takes place in the same world as the original three that starred Matt Damon. Renner will play a still unnamed, dangerous operative unleashed to carry out an assignment. If Weisz signs on, she would play the female lead, though it's unclear if that would a love interest, a partner or an enemy.

Whether you're on board with Renner as the new Bourne or not, this movie is going to happen. While some are secretly hoping that the movie fails as punishment to Universal for continuing the Bourne franchise without Damon, the potential addition of Weisz to the cast signals an attempt to produce a quality Bourne movie.

What say you Bourne fans? What are your thoughts of Weisz as a Bourne Girl?
