Every Body

Every Body is a revolutionary documentary investigating the lives of intersex people. The film tells the stories of three individuals who set aside the prevailing advice to keep their bodies secret and instead came out as their authentic selves.

Joy Ride

Searching for her birth mother, Audrey (Ashley Park) is joined by her lifelong bestie Lolo (Sherry Cola), as well as her celebrity friend Kat (Stephanie Hsu) and Lolo's nonbinary cousin Deadeye (Sabrina Wu). They journey across Asia on a madcap comic adventure that bonds them together, even as things get wild.

Sure, we’ve seen movies in which a couple of unpopular high school students set out to hook up with cheerleaders before graduation, but we’ve never seen one that puts queer teenage girls front and center – or that involves the teens starting a fight club to teach other girls how to defend themselves. This original spin on teen comedies was one of the buzziest films of SXSW 2023.
