Yes, there is reportedly now a Pez movie in the works. We'll let that sink in for a second.

Pez is kind of a toy, but it's also more a candy. We've previously heard of Hollywood's plan to turn Peeps into a movie, so we're already in that sweet part of the toy store. Plus, perhaps even more than The Lego Movie, we can always go back to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory for proof that movies centered on candy brands can not just work but also become classics. What's presumably appealing to producers at Envision Media Arts about an animated Pez movie is the possibility of bringing in all the pop-culture characters that Pez has licensed for its iconic candy dispensers.

In honor of this news, we recommend you check out the documentary Pezheads: The Movie (pictured above) to see what Pez fandom is like and also watch the Pez People music video from Christopher Guest's The Big Picture:

Our wish: We hope that a Pez movie will finally bring Pez candy to the movie theater concession stands where they belong -- just think of the merchandising they can have beyond their own movie if they sell dispensers tied to each week's hot new movie release. Now I wish I had a Mission: Impossible Pez dispenser!

Can the success of The Lego Movie also make us hopeful for another Dungeons & Dragons movie?

Actually, for Hasbro, they just have to point to their Transformers franchise and also the popularity of the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies and HBO's Game of Thrones. And hope we don't still remember the Dungeons & Dragons movie from 15 years ago. Of course, this new attempt to not only make a good movie but spark a new franchise will be produced by Roy Lee, who happens to also have The Lego Movie on his resume.

Hasbro and Warner Bros. have to want to improve on the earlier attempt, which was panned by critics and, more importantly, bombed big time at the box office.

Let's go to the vault and remember what that looked like:
