Next 3 Dwayne Johnson Movies: 'Jumanji: The Next Level,' 'Jungle Cruise,' 'Black Adam'

Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) team up against a common foe, the evil Brixton (Idris Elba), in the pumped-up action adventure Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. The raw and reckless titular characters, a former law-enforcement officer and a lifelong criminal, respectively, have broken out brilliantly in previous entries of the action series and are now showcased to entertaining effect by director David Leitch (Deadpool 2; pictured above with Johnson) in a thrill ride that is sure to please moviegoers.

Dwayne Johnson will soon be seen on the small screen in HBO's series Ballers, but big-screen action aficionados need not wait long to enjoy the muscular warrior on the big screen again. Here are his next three movies.

Jumanji: The Next Level

As the living embodiment of a video game avatar, Dwayne Johnson brought a welcome degree of self-aware humor to his explorer character. In the new adventure, things get switched up among the four primary avatars (Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan), so each one is now embodying a different character. That's only the beginning, though, as the fun expands in unexpected directions. Nick Jonas and Awkwafina also star.

Jungle Cruise

Inspired by The African Queen, Romancing the Stone and Disney's theme park attraction, the forthcoming comic, romantic adventure pairs Johnson with Emily Blunt. Jesse Plemons, Jack Whitehall and Paul Giamatti also star; Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows) is the director.

Black Adam

Johnson has been set to portray the DC character for a while and now it appears that plans are being finalized for his introduction in a solo project. Reportedly, Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise) is in negotiations to direct. In the DC comic books, Black Adam is the arch-nemesis of Shazam!. Johnson has never played a comic-book character before, but in Hobbs & Shaw, he gets pretty close.

Release date: To be announced.
