Greyhound: Tom Hanks (Sully, above) has written a thriller set during World War II and also wants to play the lead role. Titled Greyhound, the movie follows a career Navy officer who is finally promoted to command a destroyer, but then must overcome his own personal demons to succeed. Terminal: Margot Robbie is featured in the first official photo from Terminal. She plays a character who is somehow at the center of a story about two hit men who meet her while on a job. Simon Pegg, Mike Myers, Max Irons and Dexter Fletcher costar. Robbie is also serving as a producer on the noir mystery. [THR]
Scooby-Doo: In August 25, we heard about plans to produce a new animated Scooby-Doo movie for the big screen. Now comes word that Dax Shepard is in negotiations to come on board as codirector. Shepard already worked with writer Matt Lieberman on the script. If things work out, Shepard will work with animation veteran Tony Cervone to helm the project, which is still aiming for release on September 21, 2018. [THR]
The Promise Trailer: Christian Bale stars in the first trailer for The Promise as an American journalist who becomes witness to a devastating war that breaks out in the Ottoman Empire.
