X-Men: Apocalypse: Via social media, director Bryan Singer offered the first look at an upcoming teaser for X-Men: Apocalypse, featuring a very sad-looking James McAvoy as Charles Xavier (aka Professor X). The teaser is expected to debut in front of Star Wars: The Force Awakens when that opens in theaters on December 18; X-Men: Apocalypse is heading for release on May 27, 2016. Mission: Impossible 6: Christopher McQuarrie, who cowrote and directed Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (above) to great critical and popular success, will return to write the next installment in the action franchise, and may direct again as well. Reportedly, the production is aiming to get underway by August 2016. Up until now, the series has utilized a different director for each installment. [Variety]

Edgar Wright: Director Edgar Wright (The World's End) will cowrite and direct an animated comedy for DreamWorks Animation. He will team with David Walliams (TV's Little Britain) on the original screenplay, which is "centered on the concept of shadows." The project replaces one titled Me and My Shadow, which had previously been developed for the studio. [Heat Vision]
The Boss Trailer: In the raucously funny first trailer for The Boss, Melissa McCarthy stars as the wealthiest woman in America. After serving a prison sentence, she loses everything, ends up living with former employee Kristen Bell and her daughter, and starts a new business which leads to a lot of hilarious situations.
