Nasty Women: Anne Hathaway (Colossal, above) is in talks to join Rebel Wilson in Nasty Women. It's described as a gender-swap remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine, which itself was a remake of 1964's Bedtime Story, starring Marlon Brando and David Niven. Crossbreed: Vivica A. Fox is showcased in the first image from Crossbreed. She portrays the president of the United States in the sci-fi movie, which revolves around a mission "to retrieve an extraterrestrial being from an illegal medical facility using its DNA to manufacture weapons." The Lawnmower Man: Released in 1992, The Lawnmower Man featured Pierce Brosnan as a scientist who conducted an experiment using drugs and virtual reality to enhance the intelligence of an ordinary gardener (Jeff Fahey). Now a company called Jaunt plans to turn the movie into a virtual reality series. [Variety]
The Wailing: Ridley Scott's production company is in early talks to remake the acclaimed Korean horror-drama The Wailing. Hosung Kim, head of Fox International Production Korea, acknowledged the challenges: "The locality and sensibility of The Wailing is so strong that I don’t think it would be easy to do a Western remake, and it will be important who directs it. So I told him I think the only director who could do the remake is [original director] Na Hong Jin." [ScreenDaily]
American Fable Trailer: A new trailer for American Fable emphasizes the odd and unusual aspects of the mesmerizing independent thriller.
