22 Jump Street

23 Jump Street: If you saw the sequel 22 Jump Street and stayed through the fabulous end credits, then this news will sound especially, er, ironic, but another sequel is definitely moving forward. Writer Rodney Rothman, who worked on 22 Jump Street, has been hired to script 23 Jump Street. What's not clear is whether directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will return for the third installment of the comedy series. [Deadline]

Pirates of the Carribean

Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Back in July we heard that Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales has been penciled in for release on July 7, 2017. That leaves plenty of time to decide on the cast -- beyond Johnny Depp, of course. Now Orlando Bloom says that there have been "some discussions" about his return and he is open to the idea; Bloom costarred in the first three Pirates movies. [Yahoo UK]

Boardwalk Empire

The Irishman: Al Pacino has confirmed that Martin Scorsese is still planning to make another movie about the Mafia, titled The Irishman. Pacino, who will be working with Scorsese for the first time, also confirmed that Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci are still on board the project and revealed that Bobby Canavale (Boardwalk Empire, above) has also joined the cast. What's still not known, though, is when Scorsese and the in-demand actors might actually start production. [The Daily Beast]

Big Game

Big Game Clip: Samuel L. Jackson stars as the president of the United States in the first clip from Big Game, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend. It seems that the POTUS has survived a crash landing in the woods after a terrorist attack, and the clip -- which we think is rather awesome -- starts from there. The movie has just been picked up for distribution in the U.S. [Movies Coming Soon]
