The Goonies

The Goonies: Back in 2011, we asked director Richard Donner about possible sequels to any of his movies, and he said, "Maybe there is a possibility for The Goonies. We didn't try very hard to do one—we couldn't do the screenplay, and hopefully that means it lays where it lays." At the time, he was trying to mount a musical version of the movie. This weekend, however, he stated, "We're making a sequel" and "hopefully" bringing back the original cast, which include Josh Brolin, Sean Astin and Corey Feldman. No other details are available. Gremlins

Gremlins: We've heard talk about a reboot of Joe Dante's Gremlins for a long time, most recently last year, when Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) was brought on board as producer. A new rumor suggests that the reboot is "moving quickly," without supplying any details as to who else might be involved. [Ain't It Cool News]

Wreck-It Ralph

Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ideas for a potential sequel to Disney's Wreck-It Ralph were revealed immediately after the original animated movie enjoyed a big opening weekend in 2012. In a recent interview, composer Henry Jackman confirmed that the sequel is in development and that it's now in the scripting stage. Again, no other details have been provided. [Collider]

Godzilla Trailer: As a new version of Godzilla prepares to stomp into theaters on May 16, a new, extended look at the movie has been released -- and it's pretty scary. For one thing, it establishes the very personal stakes for Bryan Cranston; for another, it shows the incredibly wide scale of destruction wrought by a fearsome monster from the sea. [Warner Bros.]
