A second photo from Neil Burger’s Divergent hits the Web, heating up speculation that a trailer for the anticipated adaptation could arriver sooner rather than later.
Adapted from Veronica Roth’s best-selling YA novel, Divergent takes place in a dystopian future where society is divided into five faction that determine a person’s place in life.
Shailene Woodley plays the film’s hero, Tris Prior, who learns that she belongs to a sliver of the population known as Divergents … and that Divergents are about to be wiped off the face of the Earth.
In this new photo, we’re told that Tris is beginning her initiation into the Dauntless faction, and that it’s a key step in her ongoing journey. To me, it just looks like she’s assuming a terrifying perch on a towering ledge! See for yourself:
Divergent co-stars Kate Winslet, Theo James, Tony Goldwyn, Ray Stevenson, Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz and Maggie Q. The film’s still in production, though it has circled a March 21, 2014 release date.
