We all know Godzilla is the king of all movie monsters. This month he gets a chance to prove it all over again, but he's not the only big monster out there, and some of these other beasts might have a little something to say about his supposed royalty...
The Kraken - Clash of the Titans
This man-shaped, fish-faced monster waits ready to fight any moment Zeus demands his release. His moves are a bit slow, but his strength is not to be taken lightly.
Gamera - Gamera
The giant monster fight we've always wanted to see. Gamera might not totally have what it takes but his scrappy combat style would make some marks for sure.
Stay Puft Marshmallow Man - Ghostbusters
In all likelihood, Godzilla would just melt this guy into a poll of sticky, delicious goo. It would still be an awesome thing to witness though.
The Hulk - The Avengers
Does size matter? If any monster fight can finally settle this debate once and for all, this is it.
Insectosaurus - Monsters vs. Aliens
Sure, this guy may be cute and completely devoid of high-functioning brain activity, but you never know. That might make him the most dangerous opponent of all.
Knifehead - Pacific Rim
Even when you're the king of all monsters, it's generally a good rule of thumb to give wide berth to the creature with a stabbing weapon for a face.
The Cloverfield Monster - Cloverfield
While we understand very little about this beast, it displays just as much invulnerability as the Big G, yet seems twice as mobile and manic.
Unknown - The Mist
We never really see this hulking, Lovecraftian creature in action. Chances are good, however, that Godzilla would have a rough time taking it down.
The Sarlacc Pit - Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
Godzilla better watch his step. If he's not careful this immobile monster could swallow him whole and end his movie monster career with a giant belch.
Graboids - Tremors
Another terror for Godzilla's feet! One of these probably wouldn't pose much of a threat. On the other hand, two or three might be more than he can handle.
The Gargantuas - The War of the Gargantuas
While Godzilla wins when it comes to raw power and size, it would be unwise to dismiss the intelligence the Gargantuas possess. Plus, there are two of them.
Sandman - Spider-Man 3
Get enough sand together and there's no limit to Sandman's size, versatility and power level. Unless there's water around, Godzilla doesn't stand a chance.
T. rex - Jurassic Park
What kind of dinosaur wins: old-school royalty or nuclear-era upstart? Only this potentially amazing throw down can answer the question for sure.
