Another magical movie about Wonderland hits theaters with Alice Through the Looking Glass. It’s hard not to be inspired by the amazing costumes, makeup and the overall look of this fanciful film. In the trailer, Alice follows the blue butterfly back to Wonderland, so we thought it would be fun to craft our own colorful creature. This pin is easy to make and the kids will love being able to create something they can see in the new film! (You can check out the rest of the craft projects below).

You’ll Need:

Cardboard

Blue duct tape

Scissors

Pen

Pin back

Glue

Directions:

1. Draw a butterfly on your cardboard with the pen. The kids will love this part! My cardboard was from a cereal box.

2. Tear or cut off strips of blue duct tape to cover the other side of the cardboard. Don’t cover up your butterfly drawing!

3. Use your scissors to cut out the butterfly shape.

 4. Grab your glue of choice and secure the pin back to the backside of the butterfly. Depending on the type of glue you use, you may need to wait for the glue to dry for a while. I used super glue that dries quickly, but you could just as easily use a hot glue gun.

And you’re done! Pin your new butterfly to your kid's shirt or bag for a trip to the movies.
