We are all huge Kung Fu Panda fans at our house and think Po is probably the best underdog hero ever! With Kung Fu Panda 3 in theaters Jan. 29, we thought it would be fun to get pumped for it with this project. It’s really easy to make these masks and the kids will love playing with them before and even on their trip to see the movie.
What you’ll need:
Paper plate with white side
Black contact paper (vinyl) or duct tape
Step 1: Cut out all of the facial shapes using black contact paper or duct tape. The ears can be made with a simple hole punch and the rest you can just draw on the back of the contact paper and cut out with scissors.
Step 2: Use the hole-punched ears to trace circles on the back of the eyes. These will be the eye holes for the mask.
Step 3: Do the same for the back of the mask by tracing the circles wherever you would like the eye holes to be and carefully cutting out. For a more precise cut, use an X-Acto knife.
Step 4: Peel the paper backing off of all the face pieces and stick them on.
Step 5: Flip the mask over and use tape to attach the ears and the straw. I used duct tape because it really does the job well.
Now flip the mask back over and you’re ready to play Kung Fu Panda!
