You can't deny the power of Disney's Frozen--that movie is more powerful than all of us combined, times infinity! And while Disney is doing all it can to satisfy our Frozen desires moving forward (from shorts to sequels to musicals to ice shows), it's hard not to anticipate the studio's next creation. In the immediate future, that would be Big Hero 6 (in theaters November 7), but in 2016 we'll be getting a new thrilling adventure called Moana -- and Disney has just released to us a first look at the film, which you can check out below.

So what's the deal with Moana? Well, like Frozen, it'll feature a female heroine--one who hails from the South Pacific islands. In the film, directed by Disney veterans Ron Clements and John Musker (Aladdin), she sets sail on a sweeping mission to fulfill her ancestors' quest. From Disney:

"In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demigod Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore."

We're not yet sure how much ridiculously addictive music will assist Moana on her adventures, but knowing the folks at Disney they have more than a few singsongy tricks up their sleeves. Keep an eye out for Moana, in theaters in late 2016.
