Due out on March 2nd, the Hansel & Gretel fairytale gets a new, adult-oriented spin with Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as the witch-hatin' duo all grown up and out for vengeance. The first trailer for the film will arrive next Thursday, but in the meantime EW has revealed this first look at the pair, who, according to Arterton, do a whole lot of cursing in this sure-to-be-R-rated reimagining of the classic tale.
Apart from being funny, ".. it’s also very, very dark, and bloodthirsty and there’s a lot of cursing. It’s kind of got a [Quentin] Tarantino feel, really," Arterton told the magazine. Arterton also reveals that we'll see flashbacks of the younger Hansel & Gretel killing their first witch, calling the make-up "out of this world," adding that the witches are "really repulsive and quite frightening."
