"We were just some kids from Compton having some fun in the studio." That's how Dr. Dre describes the genesis of N.W.A. Within a short period of time, Dr. Dre, along with Ice Cube, Eazy-E, DJ Yella and MC Ren would come to be known as the world's most dangerous rap group due to their brutally honest tracks about the realities they experienced. Now, almost 30 years after N.W.A. formed, their story is about to hit the big screen. Straight Outta Compton tells the story of the band from its beginnings in Compton, California and how, as Ice Cube describes it, "took the music and it became our weapon."
Watch this behind-the-scenes featurette that contains interviews with the founding members of N.W.A. (Eazy-E died in 1995) and the cast members that portray them - including O'Shea Jackson Jr., the son of Ice Cube.
Straight Outta Compton hops into theaters August 14.
