Ender’s Game made a big splash at CinemaCon in Las Vegas a few weeks back, giving attendees an extended look at Gavin Hood’s adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s classic sci-fi novel. We’re waiting patiently for some of that footage to make its way online, and it sounds like it’s due to happen in just under a week.

The film’s official Facebook page claims that in seven days (or on May 7), a full trailer for Hood’s thriller will arrive online. Most of the tease likely will utilize clips from the CinemaCon footage, which reportedly set up the bulk of the plot and the main characters.

Set in the distant future, Card’s story tells of a civilization living in the aftermath of an alien attack. At the time, only the heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley) were enough to fend off the vicious alien threats of the Formics. Now, society is busy training young soldiers in search of the next Rackham … which they believe they have found in Ender (Asa Butterfield).

As the story goes, students who display intelligence and military know-how are recruited for Battle School and Command School, where they are prepared for an epic battle to preserve our planet.

Hood’s adaptation of Card’s Ender’s Game opens in theaters in 2D and IMAX on Nov. 1. We’ll definitely have the trailer for you as soon as it drops. But for now, are there any Ender’s Game fans on Fandango? What do you hope to see in the first trailer?
