It’s not too often we see a Best Actress nominee follow up an Oscar-worthy performance with the lead in a horror flick. How’s that for covering the genres? Raimi, who’s best known for directing the Spider-Man franchise, also produced the Grudge films. As it happens, the Hell script isn’t a new one; Sam and brother Ivan wrote it in the mid-’90s, right after Army of Darkness (the third in the Evil Dead series).
Note to Ellen: Ask Raimi to go easy on the black eyeliner.
