Izaac Wang in Didi

The coming-of-age movie Didi first charmed audiences at Sundance in January. After a successful limited run, it’s opening in theaters across the country this weekend. You can get your tickets here.

Didi follows the life of 13-year-old Chris Wang (Izaac Wang) in the month before he starts high school in 2008. As the Taiwanese American teen navigates life, he finds that there are things his family can’t teach him about friends, skateboarding, love and learning to appreciate your mother.

In our exclusive clip, Chris needs a little help on kissing, so he does what all 21st-century teenagers do: He turns to the Internet.

Didi was written and directed by Sean Wang. Joan Chen co-stars as Chris’s mother Chungsing; his grandmother is played by Zhang Ly Hua, who co-starred in Wang’s Oscar-nominated short film Nai Nai & Wai Po

Check out the clip, and make your plans to see Didi this weekend. You can get tickets right here at Fandango.
